HANDMADE BON BON CHRISTMAS CARDS - FREE TUTORIAL - CTMH SHIMMER TRIM AND SNOWHAVEN

I made these cute Bon Bon Christmas Cards for something different

and change.

Christmas cards are just not the same without bling and Close To My Heart have

got you covered for bling.

Our SHIMMER TRIM is gorgeous - 10 fabulous colours

and all self adhesive, easy to use.

Above I used our SCALLOPED BORDER PUNCH to shape my shimmer trim.

Handy tip for using the punch on shimmer trim - Face the shimmer trim glitter

side found down in the punch.

Then butt the trim up against the edge of the punch and press down onto the punch.

Then slide the scalloped trim across and line it up with the shadow shape on the punch,

you will notice that there are shadows on both sides of the punch.

Continue sliding the scalloped trim along and lining up with the punch until you

have reached the desired length.

Here are some more of my handmade Christmas gifts.

I came across these extraordinary large wooden pegs in a discount variety store

and thought other then them being big enough to hang my bloomers on the line with,

what else would I use them for ?

 

Well since I love my Close To My Heart products and much prefer crafting then

housework, I found a better use for them.

A paperclip with a magnet to either hang on your fridge or magnetic white board.

Using Mod Podge on the front and back of the wooden peg, I cut strips of

Yuletide Carol paper and adhered them to either side of the pegs.

Then using a glue gun adhered some magnets to the back of the pegs, again from the discount variety show.  Then using my Cricut Expressions V2 and the Close To My Heart Artiste cartridge cut out 6 roses for decoration.  Oh, did you know that the Holiday Happenings Assortment has two sheets of alphabet stickers in them ?  Perfect to make the words "Thank you" to put on my extra large pegs.

Then to seal the wood and the paper, I spray with a can of High Gloss finish sealer.

Now my Christmas Thank you gifts are sealed, dry and ready to post.

HANDMADE GIFTS - TEACHER APPRECIATION FROM CLOSE TO MY HEART

 

Its that time of year again !!!!!!!!!!!!

End of school year

and time to start thinking about thank you gifts for the teacher.

 

This year I decided to make a unique teachers gift, Using our Teacher Appreciation stamp set and

our Exclusive Cricut Artiste Cartridge.

 

I purchased this MDF box from the hardware, sealed it with High Gloss sealant

then covered it with our Snowhaven  Duo B&T papers, using both sides of the paper.  Using

the same paper I cut out the roses using the Cricut Artiste cartridge and Cricut Expressions

So here's a HANDY TIP for stamping onto MDF -  Using our exclusive

Teacher Appreciation D1612 stamp set  I mounted it onto our clear blocks, then inked the stamp with

Versa Mark, Then Black Stazon Ink.  I quickly stamped it onto the mdf and put clear embossing powder on it and used the heat gun to set it.  This gives the inked stamped image a raised glossy finish on it, but it also seals it onto the MDF.  Once dry, I then spray Clear gloss finish spray over the top.  This will aid in the stamped image to remain on the project and not wear or rub off.

 Close to My Heart have made it so easy for me. I have bought her a Holiday Happenings My Crush book $AU24. This contains 30 – 8¼” × 6½” wire bound pages in a mix of styles: including printed vellum; printed, cardstock-weight; and page protectors in various styles with a Kraft hardcover with foil gold accent.

This needs very little embellishments but to go along with it and you could do really well with just the book, your photos and some glue and sticky tape. Despite this My Crush Holiday Happenings Assortment which is a bargain, For just $8 you get all this:
